Titolo: The Self-* properties in the Cloud -- Edge computing continuum
Abstract: In 2001, IBM launched the disruptive idea of autonomic computing, which is the capability of computer systems to manage themselves without human intervention. Self-management envisions self-optimization, self-configuration, self-healing, and self-protection, also called self-* properties. Autonomic computing is one of the enablers of modern technologies developed over the last 20 years, like IoT, 5G, and the cloud-edge computing continuum. This talk provides an overview of Prof. E.Casalicchio's research contribution to the field of autonomic computing applied to the cloud–edge continuum, focusing on models, algorithms, and mechanisms implementing the self-* properties.
