I had known Francesco for quite a long time. That allowed me to appreciate his genuine interest in research and teaching and his deep knowledge of many complex research subjects. Francesco always had time for a serene and often illuminating meeting with colleagues or students. We will all miss him as a friend, always ready to listen to you, and as a colleague who was always curious to explore new territories of knowledge. Ciao Francesco.
