Biografia di Parisi Presicce Francesco

Francesco Parisi obtained his degree in Mathematics from the “Sapienza” University of Rome in 1975.

He obtained his Master of Science (MS) in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut in 1977.

He obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut in 1981.

From 1981 to 1987 he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, CA), working on algebraic semantics and formal
specifications of data types and software systems.

From 1987 to 1993 he was a Full Professor of Information Science at the “Dipartimento di Matematica Pura ed Applicata” of the University of l'Aquila, Italy where, from 1987 to 1990, he was also Director of the Degree Program in Information Science.

In 1990/91 he was a visiting Professor at the University of Southern California, working on formal development of software systems and object-oriented languages.

Since 1993 he has been a Full Professor in the “Dipartimento di Informatica” of the “Sapienza” University of Rome and, from 1994 to 1997, he was also Director of the Degree Program in Computer Science.

From Aug 2000 to Dec 2001 he was a visiting Professor at George Mason University, working on access control and formal methods in System Security.

Francesco Parisi was a Founding Member (now Emeritus) of IFIP Working Group 1.3 (Foundations of Systems Specification)
